Each year over 300 Million pairs of shoes are thrown into U.S. landfills alone. Shoes require a lot of energy to produce, and take 40 years to breakdown. It takes nearly 2 Tonnes of Carbon Dioxide to produce 1 Tonne of Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA). EVA is used in over 97% of shoe midsoles. This material may be the most toxic component in athletic shoes - it never breaks down.
We believe in making sustainable products that are anatomically and environmentally better. Our products focus on minimal design and minimal impact on the planet; innovating what we make and how we’re making it.
We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint by using sustainable materials and responsible manufacturing. Parasoles are made from just 3 primary materials, compared to a pair of shoes which may contain up to 30 different components. Our production reduces cut-and-sew shoe waste by over 90%. The minimal design can be broken down, grinded, and remade again and again.
Recycled nylon has a much lower carbon footprint. Also durable and resistant to wear and tear. Industrial design, Product development, Reducing waste.
